Cab fares increases again!

RATE CHANGES Revised charges that will take effect from Monday for Comfort, CityCab and Yellow-Top taxis
BASIC FARE (for Toyota Crowns and Nissan Cedrics)
$2.80 for first km (Currently: $2.50)
Every subsequent distance/time step: 20¢ (Currently: 10¢)

PEAK PERIOD PREMIUM Mon-Fri, 7am-9.30am; Mon-Sat, 5pm-8pm 35%of metered fare (Currently: $2 flat rate)

CITY AREA SURCHARGE $3 payable Mon-Sat, 5 pm-midnights (Currently: $1 payable Mon-Thur, 5pm-8pm; Fri and Sat, 5pm-11.30pm)

LIGHT NIGHT SURCHARGE 50%of metered fare, from midnight to 5.59am (Currently: Staggered rates, from 11.30pm-5.59am)

BOOKING FEE $3.50 at prime time, Mon-Fri, 7am-9.30am, 5pm-11pm (Currently: $4) $2.50 at non-prime time (No change)

Eg if you book a cab at 7pm to go to Marina Square and your normal fare with booking cost $10.00. With the revised rates, your fare will now be
Flag Down - $2.80
Distance - $3.00
Peak Period - $1.75 (30% of $2.80 + $3.00)
City Area - $3.00
Booking Fee - $3.50
Total Fare - $14.05

I am sure that some people will feel pinch if the cab fare will increase again.Hope that all the rates revised will improve better service and timing for cabbies.They can help the cabbies to make more money too and not play hide-seek or reject passengers who flag down.

I had a bad experience about rejected by cabby!After dinner with colleagues,then we waited outside hotel and then we entered and sat down but the driver told us to get out since he claimed that he has to change his shift after we told him our destination at Jurong West! Not once again but got rejected 3 times! we were angry at them!Yes,it was around 8pm plus!Finally,we got a cab almost when the driver decided not to reject us.sigh...
