GST go up again from 5% to 7%!

Not another hike go up again! Now,it's GST hike's turn to go up again!The government want to increase GST in order to help more low-income families and elder people.The new GST will be confirmed on 15th Feb 2007.The government introduced first new GST by 3% in 1994,then increase GST by 4% on Jan 1 2003 and last GST increase GST again by 5% on Jan 1 2004.Since the government want to increase GST,then our wages should be raised too,right?Well,depend on companies who will increase wages or not.I expect GST keep going up about 10%,who knows?I think we should not complain about GST increase cuz' Singapore's GST compare with other countries who have higher GST such like Europe (up to 25%),British (17.5%),australia (10%),New Zealand (12.5%),USA(9.4%),Japan (5%),China (17%).But I think Singapore is very small island and don't have natural resources unlike other countries and still should not increase GST so fast.Sigh...In case,better buy more clothes,shoes,food earlier for Chinese New Year before new GST will start on 15th Feb (after valentine's day).hee
