Almost lost

Last friday,I met Frances at Clementi Mcdonald and then we had to wait for Frances's hearing two friends to meet us at taxi stand.Kazay went on own while Jac Chan had appointment. Then we entered SMRT cab and saw the old man.Frances's friend told him to go to Bukit Timah near friend's house for cellgroup meeting. Then Frances and I were busy chatting till we realised that the place got wrong! The driver kept apologised to us for getting "lost".He told us that he was just new driver for 3 days! What!!!??? He did not know how to go back to Clementi when we were in Bukit Batok. My god!Unfortunately,we were not familiar with Bukit Batok. So the driver stopped by condo and asked the security for help. Then the driver continued to drive back to Clementi but missed the sign "Clementi" so he drove back again.Frances and I shook head but forgive the driver as he was an old man only :P He told us through interpreter (frances's hearing friend) that he was 65 years old only.He still can be fit to be cab driver? How interesting! He will waive the cab fare since he did not know where the place was. Finally,we were into Clementi.Know what?He thought that Clementi interchange is Ngee Ann Polytechinc! We almost laughed but kept control ourselves. My god! Then Frances helped to point all the directions. Finally,we reached cellgroup meeting near Bukit Timah but were quite late by now.Frances and I felt "sorry" and forgive the driver as he is still new and old man so we paid $5 to him.He looked very happy and kissed 5 dollar note as his gratefulness. He said jokingly that we are fated to meet him in SMRT cab. What a sense of humour! hee...This is my first time to see the new driver who did not know how to go that difficult place!Praise the lord for being honest with us :)

Well, that old man's situation is understandable. It seems to me that he seldom travels around Singapore?

He may be admirable because in his old age, he is willing to work as a taxi driver. Besides, he may not be familiar with some places. I think the passenger's cab fare is considered salary to the taxi-driver.

I think he ought to get familiar with places first before he starts to work as a taxi-driver. It may cause unhappiness to his passengers for wasting their time.

the old man driver is lucky to have understanding and patient passengers like u and frances! If not, he will get scolding. Maybe he was not familiar with these places cos it was dark at night and too many lights made him confused. If i were him driving at night, i will get lost too, I prefer driving in the day! hee...
